When someone gives, and someone else prays, another follower of Jesus is equipped and empowered to go and shine the light of Jesus in the darkness...

...and the lives of people who have never heard of Jesus are changed forever.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?

As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

In 2023, we are believing God for 20 new Aussie workers to send into communities that don’t know of the God who loves them and sent His Son Jesus “to give light to everyone”.

Shining a Light on the True God

Not long ago, Matt* was hoping to join the Australian Air Force. But God had other plans for his life. He gave Matt a deep burden for the least reached, people who have never heard the name of Jesus.

Matt is now on an adventure with God. One that has taken him to a West Asian country to shine the light of Jesus among Muslims.

Matt lives among locals in a shared house, and has already seen God break through the darkness and transform the life of his room mate, Fahad*.

As they shared life together, Fahad was intrigued to see Matt reading his Bible each day.

“If God really is the God over all, He cannot let his word be changed,” Fahad said. “And if the Bible and the Koran are so different, they can’t both be true.”

Desperate for the truth, Fahad began reading the Koran and the Bible side by side, taking notes, asking the hard questions and engaging in deep spiritual conversations with Matt.

And then one day Fahad announced “the God of the Bible is the true God!”

“He has been squeezing me and squeezing me, showing himself more clearly over time.”

Overwhelmed by God’s love and peace, and with great joy, Fahad gave his life to Jesus. The very next day, he went out to the seaside and started sharing his experience of God’s love with locals.

Matt and Fahad are now a “çift” (a pair) in ministry, walking alongside each other in discipleship, worship and fellowship.

Together, they are shining the true light of Jesus in their community, leading more locals to the true God of the Bible.
