What is art? Most of us know what drawing or painting is, but art is more than just that: it’s thinking outside the box. A lot of people have a talent to be creative and don’t even know it. Our art and woodwork lessons are designed to give young people creative and practical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, a healthy work ethic and new avenues for income.

You will be working with a local organization which has already been operating for more than ten years in different regions of Central Asia.

Creativity – thinking outside the box – was not really encouraged under the Soviet education system. Repercussions of this deficiency continue to hold people back from reaching their potential as a creative influence locally and abroad.

Our art and woodworking lessons are designed to give young people creative and practical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, a healthy work ethic and new avenues for income. Exhibitions in the community and training for art teachers raise awareness of the need for creativity and equip teachers to give better art lessons.

Are you a creative person who wants to see people thinking outside the box? Ready to teach them creative practical skills and encourage them to think for themselves? Willing to work among communities that are filled with animistic and folk Islamic beliefs?

As part of this role you will be part of our church planting team committed to holistic development working among the unreached in Central Asia.

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
