IT support person (OM EAST – Literature and Media, Austria)

OM EAST is looking for an on-site IT support person to ensure the smooth running of their literature and media ministry’s infrastructure. As you support a creative team of graphic designers, app developers and eBook programmers, you are making it possible to produce Christian media in the heart-languages of people groups around the world.

OM EAST, based near Vienna, is looking for an on-site IT support person to ensure the smooth running of their literature and media ministry’s infrastructure. This includes the administration of their Linux servers, installing programmes and supporting the Windows clients. OM EAST's IT environment consists of: Windows clients, Linux servers (both in the offices and in the cloud, i.e. web servers), NAS boxes, network switches and printers.
IT support person’s responsibilities:
• Monitoring Linux servers and NAS boxes in the office to ensure error-free operation
• Monitoring backup processes
• Running software updates on Linux servers and NAS boxes in the office
• Monitoring Linux web servers in the cloud
• Installing new hardware as needed
• Adding and removing users as needed, both for the Windows (Samba) domain and OpenVPN
• Adding, moving, and removing Office365 users
• Installing new Windows clients as needed
• Installing software updates on Windows clients
• Troubleshooting user problems and liaising with the OM Helpdesk
• Monitor and troubleshoot the Internet connections in the offices
IT support person’s knowledge, skills and experience:
• Experience in Windows and Linux System administration
• Familiar with using current PC hardware
• Willingness to problem solve and research solutions

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

Use your skills and coaching ability to invest in OM’s videographers, helping them develop in their production skills, while upholding the OM brand standards as it relates to visual storytelling. A writer in Albania will be writing stories for the purposes of advocacy, recruiting, financial development, education, awareness and prayer. The position involves producing insightful and engaging content of ministry, culture and people. They will be used in print and online publications to encourage engagement with OM through prayer of, giving to, or joining missions. OM writers share stories of God’s work through OM in an accurate, culturally sensitive way.
As our IT Administrator you’ll be assisting the IT Coordinator in a multifaceted range of responsibilities. You will be managing the email network, provide MS Office help desk and other user support, provide network maintenance and support to a multinational team and system administration with Linux-server, Windows 7 and  10.
As part of the Global Video Network under the Video Coach, the Video Producer organises video projects around the world as they relate to OM. The video producer will carry out assignments from pre-production to post-production that are approved by the Creative Traffic Manager, while upholding the OM brand standards as it relates to visual storytelling.
