Team Leader: Music

The team leader for music leads a team of musicians as part of the creative outreach ministry. A musician yourself, you will recruit, organise and direct a team of contemporary and orchestral musicians to produce a variety of content for online, face to face, venue-based and street outreach. An experienced musician yourself, you will be ready, able and willing to lead by example in investing your talent for wide-sowing among the least reached.

You play guitar, piano, flute, viola, cello or maybe it’s flügel horn… or, hey, even the Ondes Martenot or the theramin. You like playing with other musicians, and you know how to get them to work together as a team, even when artistic tensions are running high. Or, you don’t know how to do this, but would like a shot of learning it. But, most of all, you love Jesus and you want to live out his love through a music ministry.

Welcome to the world of the unthanked, underappreciated, and yet, strangely fulfilled, music team leader for OM in Belgium. Whether you’re coming from Rap, Baroque or Classic Rock, you’re the one who makes the whole greater than the sum of the parts. You’ll work to recruit and rehearse your team, and then take them on the road in gigs across Belgium and further afield. We’ll also be producing music videos with you to take your talents internationally.

We can’t promise you fame and fortune (in fact, we can pretty much rule out fortune), but we can help you develop the hard-won people skills which, in time, could propel you to the top-rank of orchestral principles, producers, performers or recordists.

The minimum commitment is one year.

Everyone who is new to OM and has not been part of a similar programme in another organisation will spend their first year as part of our Year Programme, which will include working in their chosen ministry. This includes Bible training, language learning, and introduction to missions life and many opportunities to develop new skills and talents.

Visa: EU.
Health: Reasonable adjustments can be made for disabilities

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

Interested?

OM in Belgium is looking for believers who want to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least-reached, and are prepared to invest their lives to make it happen. With a year or more commitment, you will learn the local language naturally, through contact with native speakers, and help to establish a new fellowship where there was none previously.
Would you like to use your media creation talents in new and unique ways to serve in an unreached part of Europe? Do you have a heart to come beside the local church, esteeming, training and equipping them to bring the good news to the lost in creative ways?
We are looking for someone with good organizational and communication skills and a passion for reaching unreached peoples to oversee our short-term outreach area.
You would be working with a multicultural team, based in a large city.  You would have plenty of opportunity for your own personal ministry alongside organizing the short-term outreaches.
