International Remote Financial Accountant

We are looking for someone with accounting skills to support OM teams worldwide.

The role involves assisting with an entity’s finance operations remotely and providing financial advice and support to the leadership team. It may be necessary to be involved in preparing end of year accounts ready for external audit.

The role exists to support OM’s ministry of seeing Vibrant Communities of Jesus Followers among the least reached.

The role requires someone with at least 2 years’ experience in finance and accounting systems.

KEY RESULT AREAS
1. General Accounting
Ensure that any local finance staff are equipped to undertake their role, including assisting with monthly reconciliations. Follow standard procedures to ensure accounts are up to date.

2. Treasury and cash flow
Assist with monitoring cash balances and requirements.

3. Budgets
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and produce reports to monitor the actual performance against the budget

Location: OM has many offices worldwide and it is possible the person could be attached to an existing OM office, but it is not essential. Work would probably be done from the person’s home.

Time: This is a part-time position, approximately 5-10 hours per week

On-the-job training and support will be provided by the existing team.

This is a non-salaried / voluntary position.

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

As an accountant on the mission field with OM, you will use your financial management skills toward the purpose of seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers established among the least reached. This important role is vital to ministry on the field. As an accountant in OM, you would provide accountability for the cash transactions conducted on the field and perform duties to assist with accounting functions pertaining to bank accounts, budgets, journal entries, financial reporting and administrative changes, guided by precedent and guidelines of established polices.
