Catalytic Ministries Area Chief Finance Officer

We’re looking for a person of integrity who is passionate about finance and about seeing people become followers of Jesus. In this key role, you will help OM’s Catalytic Ministries around the world impact the kingdom of God by providing accountability for financial transactions and reporting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•Monitor and advise Area Leader and International Chief Financial Officer (ICFO) in order to ensure effectiveness of financial controls and accuracy of financial reporting within the area.
•Identify and recommend appropriate training in order to support Catalytic Ministry finance staff in complying with good finance practice.
•Provide the Area officers and those in charge of Catalytic Ministries with monthly reports to help them understand the financial condition of their ministry and internal and external trends developing.
•Represent the interests and concerns of the Area and Catalytic Ministry Leaders at the International Finance Committee meetings.

Requirements:
•Minimum of 5 years work experience in accounting, finance or economics. 
•A proven track record of higher level financial management, responsible for systems implementation, review and/or modifications; oversight and management of a finance department.
•A proven record of risk assessment and mitigation.
•Experience in reporting directly to the leader of the company or organisation as well as to the Board of Directors. 
•Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
•Knowledge of the OM International Policy Manual and the OM Finance Manual
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
•Able to use appropriate software used in OM for communication and people support
•This is a non-salaried, support raising position

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

We are looking for knowledgeable, detail-oriented individuals who will handle the paperwork associated with OM's business and ministry transactions, including petty cash, data entry, bills, accounts, banking and record keeping. Participation in local ministry and team life may also be aspects of your role
As an accountant on the mission field with OM, you will use your financial management skills toward the purpose of seeing vibrant communities of Jesus followers established among the least reached. This important role is vital to ministry on the field. As an accountant in OM, you would provide accountability for the cash transactions conducted on the field and perform duties to assist with accounting functions pertaining to bank accounts, budgets, journal entries, financial reporting and administrative changes, guided by precedent and guidelines of established polices. Participation in local ministry and team life may also be aspects of your role.

This is a full-time role which supports the work of the Field Personnel Officer in the Andean Region, that provides day-to-day administrative oversight to the personnel-related activities of Ecuador. This includes active coordination and handling of personnel-related inquiries, applications activities, etc.

• Event planning (prayer days, team retreat)
• Assistance with i.e. mailings, smaller projects, taking minutes
• Database management
