Summit extreme – Reaching the Himalayan Plateaus (9m)

In this fairly remote country in the Himalayas, many people have never heard of God.  Join Summit extreme for nine months and spend a significant part of your time in the Himalayan plateaus, at high altitudes and in restricted areas. While travelling in small groups through the villages we build relationships, share the good news and sleep at guesthouses and in local homes.
6-12 months
Full Time
August 2021
Your first month will be focused on preparation for trekking; practical teachings, language study, team activities, and a short trek. Weekly we study the word and on most weekends we attend a local fellowship. You are ready and most welcome to join when you:
have a basic understanding of English language;
will be flexible with any changes or circumstances;
are in fairly good health condition, both physically and emotionally;
are passionate about sharing the good news with others.

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

Interested?

Do you have a desire to work with men who are unemployed or find themselves in a depressed economic environment?  Are you interested to build capacity, recognise God-given gifting and enhance life skills? Do you have empathy to work with the vulnerable or marginalised over time? Do you have the heart and grit see isolated and unreached communities reached with the eternal hope of the Gospel?
Since our beginnings, we have been driven by a deep conviction that everyone should have the opportunity to hear the gospel at least once. Sadly, there are still thousands of peoples and communities that have never heard about Jesus, ever. Do you have a heart for (young) people and a desire for them to hear of His fame and renown? Come and be involved in many different activities including kids clubs, Big Red Bus ministry, creative evangelism and much more!
