Head of Creative Outreach

The Head of Creative Outreach recruits, develops and leads a team of content creators who will work online, face to face and through street and venue events to share the love of Jesus with people who have never encountered it.

The team will be made up of artists, musicians, dancers, sports people, writers, directors, producers and others from the creative industries willing to invest a year or more for God’s kingdom. Spiritual maturity and an openness to all ideas are key to this role.

You totally get outreach through art, music, sport, street work, pancakes, coffee, events and comics. It’s not just that you’re good at what you’re good at. You also get the stuff you don’t do. When you see someone who’s good at something, you want to involve them. In other words, you’re the ideal person to lead OM’s creative evangelism team in Belgium. Which is handy, because we’re looking for someone exactly like you.

OM in Belgium pioneered creative evangelism in the 1980s and 1990s, and approaches developed here have been picked up in missions and churches across the entire world. But the world doesn’t stand still, and we can’t stand still either. The Head of Creative Evangelism will assemble a team of artists, sportspeople, musicians, illustrators, actors and other creative types to develop innovative, relevant and exciting approaches to touch people with the Gospel for the first time. We can’t bore people into the kingdom, and if we just try to shout we’ll end up straining our voices while people close their ears. So let’s use the creative talents that God gave us to make something which makes connections, inspires and intrigues.

Everyone who is new to OM and has not been part of a similar programme in another organisation will spend their first year as part of our Year Programme, which will include working in their chosen ministry. This includes Bible training, language learning, and introduction to missions life and many opportunities to develop new skills and talents.

Visa: EU-citizen
Health: Reasonable adjustments can be made for disabilities.
Willingness to raise personal support.

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

What is good health? Usually we think of physical symptoms, but being healthy also includes the social, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life. We want to see people living in wholeness in each of these areas.

Are you the kind of health worker who wants to see people getting better on both aspects: physical and spiritual, by teaching basic health lessons? Willing to work among communities that are filled with animistic and folk Islamic health beliefs?  Then please keep on reading.

Young people today are searching for what is real and what works in their lives. They are moving from childhood to adulthood. Some have already started a friendship with Jesus but lack a mentor to disciple them in their relationship with Christ, while others have never heard of Christ. Around the world, there is a tremendous need for full-time youth workers, who have a deep desire to see young people develop in their walk with Jesus. In many circumstances, creativity is needed to find ways to make connections and build relationships with young people. Do you share our passion to see young people discover who Jesus is and be built up to become men and women who follow Him? Consider joining us on this journey!
