Sports Evangelist

Go & Live in

OM in Belgium is looking for a sports evangelist. Sports and fitness are by far the most important cultural activities, with ⅓ saying they play sports regularly, and 70% saying they regularly do fitness. The gym industry was booming up to Covid-19, and people are looking for ways to get back looking good and feeling fit. This role is for someone who can be a credible sports or fitness coach, or build relationships by joining a local team or club, possibly playing in ranking competitions.

You love sport, and, what’s more, you’re good at it. Good enough to have your name on a trophy somewhere, or maybe a coaching qualification, or maybe you’ve been part of a team or academy that was really going somewhere. But you also love Jesus, and you want to invest in the Kingdom, even if it’s only for a while, before returning to full-time sport, or taking your career in a different direction.

OM in Belgium is looking for a sports evangelist. Sports and fitness are by far the most important cultural activities, with ⅓ saying they play sports regularly, and 70% saying they regularly do fitness. This role is for someone who can be a credible sports or fitness coach, or build relationships by joining a local team or club, possibly playing in ranking competitions.

We don’t have a manual for this role: all across Africa churches have been started through football teams, and in Central Asia OM’s Total Fit programme has opened many doors. But, thus far in sport-obsessed Belgium, nobody has found the key to sports evangelism.

So there’s just two objectives:
1) Find out how sports-based evangelism can work in Belgium
2) Do it.
And one stretch goal:
3) Once you’ve developed the ministry, train others to do the same.

Does this sound like you? We are looking for a one-year minimum commitment. If you haven’t been in front-line missions before, we will combine your first year with the OM Belgium year programme.

Visa: EU
Health: Good physical health

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

OM in Belgium is looking for believers who want to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least-reached, and are prepared to invest their lives to make it happen. With a year or more commitment, you will learn the local language naturally, through contact with native speakers, and help to establish a new fellowship where there was none previously.
OM in Belgium is looking for an online evangelist who is ready, able and willing to invest a year in reaching the least reached right where they are: in front of their smartphones, tablets and computers. No qualifications required—except that you love Jesus, you love people, and you LOVE social media.
OM in Belgium is looking for members for the new Creative Team. While bringing your own special talents to the mix, you’ll enjoy working with other creative people and trying things out which you’ve never done before, and never imagined you would. You could be running a pop-up coffee shop in the market in the morning, recording a music video in the afternoon, and leading a Bible study in the evening.
OM in Belgium is looking for an illustrator/animator to work in the world’s leading nation for production of graphic novels and comic books. The role will involve working with writers and translators to produce online and print content which can be quickly seen by thousands of people and will open the doors to sharing the gospel in depth among those who have never encountered it before.
OM in Belgium works in a sophisticated trilingual environment. Our ambition to plant churches, reach the unreached and mobilise believers is often limited by our capacity in language. We are looking for a language specialist in Dutch, and a language specialist in French, who can unblock these ministries and multiply our work. For Dutch, this also includes taking part in the Flemish Bible translation project.
OM in Belgium is looking for a street evangelist. If that’s you, you don’t need any further explanation. If it isn’t you, further explanation is too much.

A friendly smile is all you need to strike up a conversation. You love people, and you love Jesus. Whether working with musicians, street food, actors, stunts, pop-ups or flashmobs, or just a shared interest in waiting for the bus, you always find a way to share a little bit of your faith, and part as new friends.
The Building, Maintenance and Repair worker will work with the Head of Buildings to keep ZavCentre functioning as it is now, and to create the new ZavCentre, including renovating accommodation, building video and recording studios, completing the OM International Prayer Hub, and preparing meeting rooms to meet post-Covid regulations. We expect you to have some general practical abilities, and we will give you training in specialist areas.
OM in Belgium is looking for a head of fundraising. We are fifty people, part of the OM family, working among the least reached in one of the world’s most technological, bureaucratic and advanced nations. Our vision is to move from a position of just breaking-even to be able to be generous partners and standard-setters.
The Head of Creative Outreach recruits, develops and leads a team of content creators who will work online, face to face and through street and venue events to share the love of Jesus with people who have never encountered it.

The team will be made up of artists, musicians, dancers, sports people, writers, directors, producers and others from the creative industries willing to invest a year or more for God’s kingdom. Spiritual maturity and an openness to all ideas are key to this role.
OM in Belgium is looking for people with compassion and strong will to work among victims of trafficking, to advocate at the European and national level for better laws and more helpful treatment by the authorities, and to gently share the gospel through a consistent, loving lifestyle. This role is about building long-term relationships with women whose relationships are exclusively transactional and ephemeral.
OM in Belgium is looking for a Training Coordinator who can complete the work of establishing a Bible-school level study programme, develop the language learning programme, and help people to develop professional competences which are valuable in missions now, and will be valuable in their careers when and if they move out of full-time ministry.
The team leader for music leads a team of musicians as part of the creative outreach ministry. A musician yourself, you will recruit, organise and direct a team of contemporary and orchestral musicians to produce a variety of content for online, face to face, venue-based and street outreach. An experienced musician yourself, you will be ready, able and willing to lead by example in investing your talent for wide-sowing among the least reached.

OM in Belgium is recruiting a music team to write new music, record new music and perform new music supporting outreach, church planting and mobilising believers. We are looking for skilled, committed people who want to grow as believers and also extend themselves as musicians.
