Desktop Publisher/Layout Designer

MediaWorks is looking for a candidate who has a high attention to detail and the stamina to work as a Desktop Publisher/Layout designer. As you collaborate with our local partners and do the groundwork of laying out and editing texts in different languages for print and digital media, you will play a part in producing high-quality media that shares God's truth with least reached people groups.

MediaWorks equips local ministries around the globe with relevant print and digital media that helps them share the gospel and strengthen believers in their communities.

We are looking for a Desktop Publisher/Layout Designer to strengthen our creative team. Your role is to deliver final copy for printing or online publishing by importing texts and images into customised templates created by our designers. Through your work, you will make it possible to create high-quality media that shares God’s love with the least reached in their heart languages.

Your responsibilities:
– Understand the design requirements needed for a project
– Import text and graphics into publishing software
– Integrate images and text into custom templates to create cohesive pages
– Adjust text properties, such as font, style, size, column width, spacing and colour
– Revise layouts, entering and checking corrections as necessary
– Provide files for review by editors
– Submit or upload final files for printing or online publishing

Requirements:
– Intimate relationship with Jesus
– Understanding of and compliance with OM, its core values, structures, and statement of faith
– A keen eye for detail and accuracy 
– Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office tools 
– Work experience as a Desktop Publisher or Layout Designer or a similar position (preferred but not required)
– Proficiency in layout and design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and others (preferred but not required)
– Ability to learn new software
– Ability to work in team as well as independently
– Good verbal and written communication skills
– Good organisational skills

In this role, it is possible to work locally in our office near Vienna, Austria, or remotely.
