OM Ships International (OMSI) is a faith mission funded through gifts and revenue from the bookfair on board. All crew and staff serve as volunteers who raise their own support.

Volunteering on board Doulos Hope, you will be impacted as you participate in this life changing adventure
1-2 Years
Full Time
Live in a unique international community on board a ship. By being a part of the organisation aimed to share knowledge, help and hope to the world, transforming lives and communities through:
Experience God in new ways as you see Him at work in and through you. Learn from different countries and cultures, sailing from port to port.
Grow in character by living and ministering in the ship’s international community of approximately 150 people from many nations. Build friendships which can last for a lifetime.
Serve and learn skills by working 40 hours a week in one of the ships departments.
Strengthen spiritual understanding and disciples through the regular devotions, study, groups, prayers meetings and worship nights.
Develop creative ministry skills such as drama, mime, dance and children’s ministry as well as public speaking skills and leadership skills.
Reach out to local people during your ministry days sharing your faith in a culturally appropriate way and serve the national church and community through longer ministry challenge teams.

Live opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

The Year Programme GSM is a 10-month training designed for individuals to grow in their relationship with God and their identity in Christ. We want each participant to be shaped and inspired to be the person God has made them to be. We aim to provide tools for participants to grow in their relationship with God. We will walk with them as they wrestle, learn, do, and grow. At the end of the programme, we hope each participant will be able to contribute to our VCJF vision.
Join our international team of 400 people from 50 different nationalities. We’re investing in young people and the opportunity to use and grow in your technical skills to keep a life-changing ministry operating. Being part of the on board community you will receive personal input through daily team devotions and other ship events as well as the opportunity to experience the culture of the international crew and staff and the countries the ship visits.
