Contextual Artists in Japan

To bring the Gospel to the people of Japan through the application of contextual arts by:
• Developing discipling relationships
• Empowering local artists to use their gifts for God’s glory
• Bringing vibrancy to the church in worship and witness.

(Contextual art: Creating art that utilises styles, symbols, methods and meanings from the local culture that people understand and connect with at a heart level.)

This role interfaces with Inspiro Arts Alliance

Artists we are looking for: visual art, theatre, musician, dancer, etc.

Required Competencies
I have self-awareness of my strengths and weaknesses in both my artistry and spiritual maturity.
I work well with a team.
I can give and receive constructive feedback on ministry related items and my artistry.
I connect effectively with others whether face-to-face or virtually. 
I communicate effectively both orally and in writing. I  am willing to learn Japanese for at least 2 years.
I am trained in my art form, whether through studies or experience.

Essential Passions
I have a love for the Japanese people and culture.
I have a passion to learn.
I understand my artistry as a gift from the Father that must be stewarded well.
I pursue beauty by seeking first God’s goodness in every aspect of my being, creating and relating to others. 
I am curious. 
I love building relationships over time with the people around me.

Serving opportunities are unsalaried. Most people joining OM raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
