the STEP (Short Term Exposure Programme) is a unique opportunity for young people to serve God on board the ship.

Living and working alongside people from different nations gives you firsthand experience of what it takes to be a cross-cultural Christian worker. It is both challenging and enriching. The days will be filled with practical work in one of the ship's departments (40hrs per week/ 8hrs per day). Outreach Teams are one day per week; you will participate in an assigned ministry experience. It might be an onboard programme or an onshore event.

In good health, flexible, willing to learn. At least intermediate level of English. Must possess a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months at the leaving date from Logos Hope. Agree to abide by all ships policies. Must be fully vaccinated against covid 19.
Will there be accomodation provided?
Onboard the ship, generally in a 10-berth cabin where there is minimal storage and communal bathrooms
Will there be food provided?
Nutritious meals are served in our dining room on board three times per day. The menu is set by our Executive Chef and is often determined by the food available. Unfortunately, we cannot cater to specific eating habit or diets (vegetarian, gluten free, low cholesterol, low carb, etc.) but try to offer a variety of options at each meal.
Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?
Must arrange own travel to and from the ship and visas if required. Arrival date: 14 November 2024 from a future port. Departure will be 17 January 2025 from a future port. Travel/Health Insurance cover is required. your insurance must cover Covid-19 treatment and repatriation if needed.
What should my health condition be like?
Must be in excellent health, able to cope with hard physical work in hot, humid climates.
Do I need a visa?

Once the port and country is confirmed, please check your nationality visa requirement to enter the country.

This is a great and unique opportunity to join the first crew on Doulos Hope to get the ship ready for Ministry . Come with a servant heart, an attitude to learn, and willingness to be flexible and this could be the experience of a lifetime. Many who have been on OM ships on a short term experience bear witness to the huge impact it has made on their lives, and to how God has worked in and through them.
We aim to give participants - Knowledge and experiences to help them grow, and continue growing, in their knowledge of, and intimacy with God and awareness of self. - An understanding of God's heart for the nations. We particularly focus on what God is doing amongst Muslim people in the world and within our movement, while exposing participants to various opportunities. Participants will learn biblical and proven skills and tools to engage Muslim peoples while serving on a multicultural team. - Participants will be provided opportunities to apply what they have learned in Turkey for 3 months and another 2 months in other Muslim countries within West and Central Asia (when possible).
