To support Jamaica’s recovery after Hurricane Melissa by repairing farms, equipment, and agricultural systems so food production and community livelihoods can be restored.

This outreach will partner with OM Jamaica/Caribbean to assist people affected by Hurricane Melissa. Volunteers will help with small repair projects on homes, schools and churches
We are looking for practical, hands-on volunteers with general Tractor and Automotive, as well as Small Engine and Machine, mechanical, agricultural, construction, or technical skills. Ideally, we are looking for people who are comfortable repairing equipment, assisting with building projects, supporting greenhouse or farm work, or helping with basic manual tasks. Individuals with administrative or household base support experience are also welcome.
Participants should be in generally good health and physically able to engage in hands-on work. This outreach involves practical tasks such as light construction, basic repairs, lifting or carrying materials, and working outdoors for extended periods. Volunteers should be comfortable standing for long stretches, bending, walking on uneven ground, and working in Jamaica’s warm climate. Anyone with existing health concerns should consult their doctor before committing to the trip.
Volunteers will stay on-site at the New Horizon Christian Outreach Ministries mission station in Wynter’s Pen, Spanish Town, where dorm-style accommodations are available. The facility includes three bedrooms with bunk beds and a small kitchenette attached to one of the mission rooms. It is a space regularly used to host mission teams and provide a practical, local Jamaican experience.
Meals are included in the cost of the outreach. We encourage everyone to share meals together so the team can connect, fellowship, and build community with the family and each other. If someone has specific dietary needs or a very specialized menu, they are welcome to prepare their own food, but otherwise, we expect participants to join us for team meals.

Participants are responsible for checking Jamaica’s entry requirements based on their nationality. Some travelers may be visa-exempt, while others may require a visitor visa before arrival. We recommend confirming requirements with the nearest Jamaican Embassy/Consulate and ensuring your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
