Kenji was born and raised in Japan in a Buddhist family. At the age of 20, Kenji moved to Canada, where he attended church for the first time. He accepted Jesus through a Japanese evangelist touring Canada and later joined Wycliffe Bible Translators as a full time multimedia designer in Canada, the Philippines and several different Asian countries.
Sandy was born & raised in a missionary family that served the First Nations people in Canada. After participating in numerous mission trips, she became a missionary with Int’l Students Ministries where she eventually met Kenji.
In 2016, after serving with Wycliffe 16 years, Kenji and Sandy joined OM in order to start evangelism in Japan to the people in Kenji’s home town of Reiho—where for 2000 years, they never had a church. Kenji & Sandy are committed to evangelism in rural Japan, and creatively ministering to local people outside the church building. They also walk alongside Japanese church leaders, and give practical help to the churches that are over-aging with no man power.
Kenji & Sandy are blessed with 3 children—Shinji, Satoshi and Mizuki.
