In the last year, 25 ministry leaders from Mauritania, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and North Central Africa took part in a two-week online programme before spending five weeks on-site learning together in Accra, Ghana.
Abdoulaye*, who was involved in leading the training, said, “We did Sahel Leadership Training that focuses on equipping the younger generation of leaders within the region. We covered topics around spiritual formation, community development, leadership skills and sustainability. Some catalytic ministries had an opportunity to train the leaders as well.
“After the training was completed, each of the young leaders went back to their home countries with a renewed zeal and passion to make a difference in their communities.”
One of the results of the course was that Ana* (Niger) worked with other leaders to organise a training for people in their community on how to bring Kingdom transformation, using and sharing what they learnt during the course.
Pray for the young leaders as they put into practice what they learnt back in their home countries. Pray for them to remain rooted in Christ, growing in spiritual maturity and dependence on Him.
Thank God for training opportunities like this. Pray for the trainers, that their investment will continue to bear fruit, and for future initiatives, that more young leaders across the Sahel will be equipped and sent out.
Pray for unity across nations, that these leaders will support and encourage one another beyond the programme.
