Despite feeling like their lives are in ‘last-minute’ mode, Harold and Jenny trust God is always in control.

“There’s peace knowing God is always leading, no matter where we live or what we are doing,” they share.

With two small children, the couple recently moved from Australia to the Middle East, with Harold’s work as a springboard to share the Gospel. “It was a really quick move, and it wasn’t the first time God has said to go now,” says Harold. “But He makes our paths straight.”

“We wondered when we got married how God would use us,” says Jenny. They first met while studying in England, and their friendship turned into a long-distance relationship. After marrying, the couple settled in Australia and searched for a local church.

“In our search, God gave us more than we expected; he gave us a heart to share the Gospel cross-culturally,” she says.

Over time, the couple continued to be shaped by God until they received His calling to go. “It was like the last push of encouragement. When we said yes, God paved the way, opening up a job and preparing us through OM,” says Harold.

Now in the Middle East, the couple are settling into a new rhythm. Between the intense heat and the dust storms, they are working and raising a family while learning the language, customs, and culture.

“For everything there is a season,” says Jenny. “When we were in Australia for many years, we were praying for others and thought maybe some day we would be in their position. Now we are here, and we’ve seen God’s grace through so many who have supported us. And we want to inspire other professionals to use their careers to be more intentional.”

The couple have made it a priority to engage in activities and create opportunities to encounter people with a Muslim background. With two young children, Jenny is busy connecting with local mums and families. At work, Harold is getting to know clients and colleagues and is slowly building meaningful relationships.

“While we are here, we can build relationships and share God’s love in tangible ways. We pray that God will continue to open the way for us to reach out and impact the lives of those around us,” they share. “We often wonder where our true home is as we see ourselves as mobile people, moving as God leads. We hope to follow wherever He calls and build a life in the path He has chosen for us.”
