Visitor deck renovations 

In Seville, Spain, alongside the annual maintenance projects, Logos Hope underwent changes and refurbishing in her Visitor Experience deck.  

 
During 245 port visits across 83 countries, this deck has seen more than 10.8 million people walk across its floorboards over the years. 

We are so grateful to God as we think back on all the stories of lives that have been touched or changed on this deck! 

Flooring was changed, new spaces were made for visitors to rest while going through the bookfair and a new “information deck” system was installed for visitors to find books, among other items.  

“We have taken out a lot of things that were here before, upgrading a number of items and renovating a lot of the space and equipment. We’ve had a new floor go in, we’ve put in new welcome desks, we’ve converted one part of the ship into a souvenir shop and really just gone through and kind of tried to raise the quality of everything here on the deck,” said Project Manager James (United Kingdom). 

During the renovation, a problem financing the flooring arose. Johan (Netherlands) who was working on the project, contacted a friend who owned a flooring company, hoping for advice. The friend connected him with a manufacturer known for strong moral values.  

The company generously offered to donate an entire floor free of charge! However, the material didn’t meet the strict maritime safety standards required for a ship. 

Instead of withdrawing the offer, the supplier chose to produce a fully compliant, certified floor at no cost. It had to be specially manufactured and shipped.  

When shipping delays caused it to miss its main transport, the company personally drove it to Seville—a four‑day truck journey by two men. 

“To those who’ve been supporting us… we really do appreciate everything. You are making it possible for us to impact people’s lives around the world,” shared Project Manager James (United Kingdom).
