Since its beginning in 2022, a Gospel distribution project has seen over 400,000 copies of the Gospel of John distributed in the Spanish provinces of Seville and Huelva.

All of the Gospels are funded by the generosity of sponsors, each one contributing to seeing God’s Word reach thousands of homes. They are distributed by volunteers from different churches working together.

Francisco Echeverría, elder in the Iglesia Evangélica Sublime Gracia in Umbrete, was grateful for the chance to work with other believers. 

“This is the only evangelical church in the town and so I am grateful to God, to OM, for providing the Gospels, and to the believers who came from other churches in the Seville province to help distribute Gospels to the whole town — around 4,000 homes,” he said. 

He added that the distribution was a positive experience and created opportunities to talk with people about the contents of the free booklets. “It had a positive impact on people in the church, who have also then helped out in Gospel distributions in other places,” he shared. 

Seeing results 

In Huelva, Diego Vela, an elder in the Iglesia Cristiana Evangélica, was delighted to see people coming to church after receiving the gift of a Gospel. 

“The Gospel distribution was a very exciting activity,” he said. “The day after the distribution, a family, a mum, dad and daughter, came to church as a result of receiving the Gospel, which also contained a leaflet with the church contact details.  

“In this church, it is usually the younger people who take part in this kind of outreach, so at first the date chosen for the distribution seemed like a bad choice, as almost all the young people were going to be away that weekend. 

“However, later we saw God’s hand at work in the timing as 17 people from my church, only one of whom is under 30 years old, took part. For some of them, it was their first time taking part in this kind of evangelism and for others, it had been many years since they had last done something similar. The people who participated returned very joyful having had a positive experience.” 

A Kingdom mindset 

Daniel García, Pastor of the Comunidad Cristiana Getsemaní church in Huelva, said the people in his church were very happy to participate and were encouraged and strengthened by the outreach. “The experience of working with other churches from different denominations — another church in Huelva and those who came from different churches in the Seville province — was great, and I would definitely be open to doing more joint projects in the future. 

“I am very grateful to OM for providing the materials free of charge. I am thankful for the people who came from other churches to take part, because they were willing to see beyond only their own church and to sow seeds for the Kingdom of God. They have a ‘Kingdom mindset’.”
