Thomas* and Marina* live in a neighbourhood of Azerbaijan where there are few followers of Jesus. Working with OM in the Caucasus, they long to build and strengthen Jesus’s Church throughout the country.
Several months ago, their neighbour Naila,* who is also a follower of Jesus, asked them to pray for her relative Aydan.* Because she had breast cancer, Aydan had come to the city for chemotherapy treatment and was staying with Naila. The doctors had found a large tumour and said it was the worst case scenario.
Marina agreed and walked to Naila’s house. After introductions, she started to talk about Jesus. She shared stories about how Jesus had healed people in the Bible and in recent times. Then Marina began to pray and told the cancer to leave Aydan’s body, in the name of Jesus. Aydan held onto Marina’s hands like a lifeline.
Afterward, Aydan told them that she had received new hope. Before the visit, she had not wanted to live anymore and had no strength to fight cancer. But hearing about Jesus’s healing power had changed that. With new strength, she went to her first chemotherapy appointment, and afterward she even felt good enough to make the four-hour journey home — on the same day.
Some weeks later, Aydan returned to the city for her next chemotherapy appointment. Before starting, they made some new scans, and the doctor could not believe his eyes: the big tumour was no longer there! After studying the old scans for a while, he could find only two little spots on the new scans. They proceeded with the treatment, and Aydan left full of hope.
In June 2026, she went to her next appointment. After examining her very carefully, the doctor told her the good news: there were no more signs of cancer in her body. She had been healed completely!
Aydan knows that Jesus healed her, and she is happy to be alive. Please pray for her — and her whole family — to follow Him.
