The Special Gift

"The Special Gift" helps ministries share the Christmas message in a creative way. In the story, the good news of Jesus is wrapped within a typical Christmas celebration and ministers to those who are longing for something more in life.

Though Christmas is a particularly hard time for Han because of the long winter nights, this Christmas, he experiences something different…

Written in response to a need for contextualised content, The Special Gift helps ministries share the Christmas message in a creative way. Set in a European context, the story seeks to connect with European audiences, as well as the Muslim diaspora within Europe. In the story, the good news of Jesus is wrapped within a typical Christmas celebration and ministers to those who are longing for something more in life. 

While the narrative describes Han’s thoughts and feelings, MediaWorks illustrator Jaclyn complemented the text by focusing the visuals on Han’s grandson, Sam. “It’s Sam who is watching out for his grandpa and who makes the greatest sacrifice for his good, even when his grandpa is dissatisfied with and rejects Sam’s love for him,” Jaclyn explained. “This reflects God’s love towards us.”

Please pray that God will use this booklet as a bridge in sharing the gospel with readers. Pray that through deeper conversation, they will come to accept the greatest gift God offers us through Jesus Christ.
