The STEP (Short Term Exposure Programme) is a unique opportunity for young people to serve God on board OM’s ship Logos Hope.
Life on the ships is fast-paced and can be intense. Come with a servant heart, an attitude to learn, and willingness to be flexible and this could be the experience of a lifetime. Many who have been on STEP bear witness to the huge impact it has made on their lives, and to how God has worked in and through them.
Living and working alongside people from different nations gives you firsthand experience of what it takes to be a cross-cultural Christian worker. It is both challenging and enriching. The days will be filled with practical work in one of the ship’s departments (40hrs per week/ 8hrs per day). Outreach Teams are one day per week; you will participate in an assigned ministry experience. It might be an onboard programme or an onshore event.
To join the Logos Hope crew, you’ll need to be at least 18, in good health, flexible, and willing to learn.
You must have a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months at the leaving date from Logos Hope. And you must agree to abide by all ships policies.
The MTT (MENA Traveling Team) is perfectly suited for those who are ready to go to extreme lengths to make the gospel of Jesus available to those living in the religiously closed countries of the Middle East and North Africa. MTT will specifically utilize the gifts of those who excel in challenging and higher risk environments.
Participants will be placed in small teams. Team members will have a very intense schedule alternating between outreach and training. The training curriculum with focus on 5 main categories: biblical theology, Arabic language, Islam and Arab culture, biblical leadership, and urban/rural survival skills.Team outreaches include:
The purpose of the Africa Trek is to disciple participants through exposure to rural and least-reached African communities; deepen their intimacy with God; and help them become effective disciple-makers.
Participants (‘Trekkies’) will travel for 3 months through Southern Africa, staying with various local missionaries, serving them the best way possible. We will travel by car, bus or train, and will stay in very basic accommodation (often in tents) and eat the local food.
Trekkies will be involved in a variety of ministries including (but not limited to) door-to-door evangelism, children’s ministry, sports ministry, showing the Jesus Film and practical work. Trekkies will aim to serve the needs of the local missionaries as effectively as possible.
Day-to-day activities will vary depending on the community we are staying with. Daily activities may include things like group devotions, times for teaching/training, evangelism, serving the local community, preparing meals and traveling.
If you’re 18 or over and want to grow closer to God, see how He is working in Africa, and make as big an impact as possible on the world during your life, the Africa Trek is for you!
Trekkies will be traveling frequently, and sometimes engaging in manual labour or sport in African climates. Therefore, they need to arrive in relatively good health.

If you are interested in taking a GAP year abroad or feel a career break might be needed in the near future, then Immersion should rank highly on your possibilities list!
Immersion is an 11-month programme designed for any young person who wants biblical training and full-time ministry experience.
The first couple of months in Ireland are based at the OM headquarters, Lacken House, where Immersion participants study topics including evangelism, hermeneutics, and apologetics. As they grow in their knowledge and beliefs, they also learn practical ministry skills such as creative arts; and life skills like stewardship and time management.
After training, the remaining nine months of Immersion are spent at a ministry placement with partner churches located throughout Ireland. Smaller teams of Immersion students will share close community as they live together and serve the church in many different ways.
At the conclusion of the year, Immersion participants have the opportunity to lead a team of short-termers serving during Impact Ireland. Before returning home, Immersion team members will have grown in their walk with Jesus, ability to serve, and have a greater understanding of ministry life. All OM staff secure their own funding by private donations.

In the nations capital, you will receive necessary training before being sent out to the remote areas. Be prepared to live out of your trekking backpack for multiple weeks, while travelling in the villages, sharing the gospel and visiting local homes and churches!
In the remote mountains there are many unreached people groups. Millions are untouched by the transformational impact of the gospel, simply because no one has yet taken it there. We are working hard to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among these least reached!
Join us through our Missions Exposure Program for five or nine months. You will see and be a part of what God is doing to expand His Kingdom to the least reached peoples of the Himalayas. Trek into remote areas, pray for people, encourage our local disciple makers and share the gospel. You will learn about the church, different religions and yourself.
